| DESCRIPTION OF THE BUILDING | This is a two-storey folk house with a “sachnisi”. It is one of the few examples of houses in the settlement with a wide façade . However, the building has undergone restoration works and has been radically renovated, thus many of its original elements have been replaced, especially in regards to its materials and some of its morphological features i.e., the locations and dimensions of its openings may have been altered. A special morphological element of the building is the configuration of the upper floor on an architectural projection "sachnisi". It is a light wooden structure that aims to increase the living space, while at the same time makes the form of the building more interesting. The surface of the sachnisi is coated with plaster and its lower side is formed with a flat painted wooden surface. In this way, the lightness of the sachinisi’s construction is projected, in contrast to the unplastered and pointed structural stone masonry construction of the rest of the building. All the door and window frames of the building are wooden, paneled, with casement and paneled shutters placed on the external side of the wall. Above the upper floor windows there are circular skylights, which are integrated in a painted decorative zone, similar to a cornice, on the upper part of the “sachnisi”. The building has a gabled roof with Roman style roof tiles and its eaves are formed with wooden planks. It is interesting that a uniform color has been applied on all the wooden elements of the building. | Πρόκειται για διώροφη λαϊκή κατοικία, μία από τις ελάχιστες πλατυμέτωπες κατοικίες του οικισμού. Ωστόσο, το κτίριο έχει δεχθεί επεμβάσεις αποκατάστασης και ριζικής ανακαίνισης με αποτέλεσμα να έχουν αντικατασταθεί αρκετά από τα αυθεντικά του στοιχεία, ιδιαίτερα τα υλικά του, και πιθανόν να έχουν αλλοιωθεί κάποια από τα μορφολογικά του χαρακτηριστικά, όπως οι θέσεις και οι διαστάσεις των ανοιγμάτων του. Ιδιαίτερο μορφολογικό στοιχείο του κτιρίου αποτελεί η διαμόρφωση του ορόφου σε αρχιτεκτονική προεξοχή “σαχνισί”. Πρόκειται για μια ελαφριά ξύλινη κατασκευή που σκοπό έχει να αυξήσει τον ωφέλιμο χώρο του ορόφου, ενώ παράλληλα καθιστά την ογκοπλασία του κτιρίου πιο ενδιαφέρουσα. Η επιφάνεια του σαχνισιού είναι επιχρισμένη και η κάτω πλευρά του είναι επενδυμένη με επίπεδη χρωματισμένη ξύλινη επιφάνεια. Με αυτό τον τρόπο προβάλλεται το ανάλαφρο της κατασκευής του, σε αντιπαράθεση με τη βαριά λίθινη κατασκευή του υπόλοιπου κτιρίου, που διαμορφώνεται με αρμολογημένη εμφανή λιθοδομή. Όλα τα κουφώματα του κτιρίου είναι ξύλινα, ταμπλαδωτά με ανοιγόμενα, ταμπλαδωτά σκούρα τοποθετημένα στην εξωτερική παρειά του τοίχου. Πάνω από τα παράθυρα του ορόφου υπάρχουν κυκλικοί φεγγίτες, που είναι ενταγμένοι σε μία ζώνη με ζωγραφικό διάκοσμο, σαν γείσο, στο πάνω τμήμα του σαχνισιού. Το κτίριο φέρει δίρριχτη στέγη με «ρωμαϊκού» τύπου κεραμίδια και η προεξοχή της είναι επενδυμένη με ξύλινες τάβλες. Χαρακτηριστικό είναι ότι ακολουθείτε ενιαία χρωματική προσέγγιση σε όλα τα ξύλινα στοιχεία του κτιρίου. |
