| DESCRIPTION OF THE BUILDING | Mansion house with neoclassical features, located on the outskirts of the city near the sea. The house is two-storey, large and has a rectangular floor plan. Its façade is arranged in three-parts and is organized with a central symmetrical axis, which is emphasized by the position of the main entrance, the opening of which is decorated with a monumental edging that bears a pediment. The central part of the façade, where the main entrance is located, is slightly projected. An impressive marble staircase with two symmetrical legs leads to the entrance. Characteristic morphological elements of the building are the many rhythmically repeated openings on all sides of the building, with boarder decorative strips with cornices, and the single perimeter terrace of the upper floor with the elaborated metal railings. The finial of the building is decorated with a three-part cornice and its roof is covered with Byzantine type roof tiles. | Αρχοντική κατοικία με νεοκλασικά χαρακτηριστικά, κτισμένη στις παρυφές του οικισμού κοντά στη θάλασσα. Η κατοικία διώροφη, μεγάλη και έχει ορθογωνική κάτοψη. Η πρόσοψή της έχει τριμερή διάρθρωση και οργανώνεται με κεντρικό άξονα συμμετρίας, που τονίζεται με τη θέση της κύριας εισόδου, το άνοιγμα της οποίας κοσμείται με μνημειακό περιθύρωμα που φέρει αέτωμα. Το κεντρικό τμήμα της πρόσοψης, όπου βρίσκεται η κύρια είσοδος, βρίσκεται σε μικρή προεξοχή, ενώ εντυπωσιακό μαρμάρινο κλιμακοστάσιο με δύο συμμετρικά σκέλη οδηγεί σε αυτήν. Χαρακτηριστικά μορφολογικά στοιχεία του κτιρίου αποτελούν τα πολλά ρυθμικά επαναλαμβανόμενα ανοίγματα σε όλες τις όψεις του κτιρίου που φέρουν περιθύρωμα με γείσο και η ενιαία περιμετρική βεράντα του ορόφου με τα περίτεχνα μεταλλικά κιγκλιδώματα. Η απόληξη του κτιρίου κοσμείται με τριμερές γείσο και η στέγη του επικαλύπτεται με «βυζαντινού» τύπου κεραμίδια. |
