| DESCRIPTION OF THE BUILDING | Folk traditional three-storey house, with a triple “sachnisi” and a wooden roof. It is a corner house built on the street edge. It has a small asymmetrical floor plan which is also evident in the way it develops in height. Particular morphological elements that define the building form and the facades are the three triangular "sahnisia". This is basically a projection of the slight enlargement of each of the upper floors creating these cantilevered volumes above the lower levels. Thus, a 'double level' “sahnisi” is above the main entrance and the other two are on the first and second floor overlapping each other on the corner of the building. On the lower side of the “sahnisia” there is horizontal wood cladding and decorative strips. Additionally, they are supported by slanted timber console brackets thus projecting the lightness of their wooden structure. In addition, the edges of the building are decorated with visible wooden pilasters. The door and window frames of the building are wooden, casement with paneled shutters. The building is covered with a wooden roof and has Roman type roof tiles. The building has undergone radical reconstruction, which has altered some of its authentic features. | Λαϊκή παραδοσιακή τριώροφη κατοικία, με τριπλό σαχνισί και ξύλινη στέγη. Η κατοικία είναι γωνιακή, κτισμένη στο όριο του δρόμου, έχει μικρή ασύμμετρη κάτοψη και για το λόγο αυτό αναπτύσσεται καθ’ ύψος. Ιδιαίτερα μορφολογικά στοιχεία που διαμορφώνουν καθοριστικά τις όψεις και την ογκοπλασία του κτιρίου αποτελούν τα τρία τριγωνικά «σαχνισιά», ένα διώροφο πάνω από την είσοδο της κατοικίας και ένα διπλό επάλληλο «σαχνισί» στην γωνιακή πλευρά του κτιρίου, που αυξάνει σταδιακά ανά όροφο τον ωφέλιμο χώρο της κατοικίας. Και τα τρία «σαχνισιά» διαμορφώνονται στην κάτω πλευρά τους με οριζόντια ξύλινη επένδυση και διακοσμητική ταινία και στηρίζονται σε εμφανής ξύλινες αντηρίδες, προβάλλοντας με αυτό τον τρόπο το ανάλαφρο της ξύλινης κατασκευής τους. Επιπλέον, οι ακμές του κτιρίου κοσμούνται με εμφανής ξύλινες παραστάδες. Τα κουφώματα του κτιρίου είναι ξύλινα, ανοιγόμενα, με ταμπλαδωτά εξώφυλλα. Το κτίριο επικαλύπτεται με ξύλινη στέγη και φέρει «ρωμαϊκού» τύπου κεραμίδια. Το κτίριο έχει υποστεί επεμβάσεις ριζικής ανακατασκευής, με αποτέλεσμα να έχουν αλλοιωθεί κάποια από τα αυθεντικά χαρακτηριστικά. |
